Awqaf & Minors Affairs Foundation in Dubai has approved the Executive Regulation to control the granting of the Dubai Endowment Sign and to provide consultations at Mohammed Bin Rashid Global Centre for Endowment Consultancy in line with the forthcoming phase to be guided by Dubai future plans.
In this regard, the Foundation’s Board of Directors held its periodic meeting presided by His Excellency Essa Abdullah Al Ghurair, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, during which the Executive Regulation was approved to control the granting of Dubai Endowment Sign and to provide consultations.
Aiming at keeping pace with the various development of the legislative environment in recent years, the new regulation is adopted to serve the expansion of the services scope to include additional sections and to open business new horizons.
Furthermore, “Dubai Endowment Sign” is granted by Mohammed Bin Rashid Global Centre for Endowment Consultancy “one of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives under the management of Awqaf & Minor Affairs Foundation” to the foundations and individuals having community contributions related to endowment and gifts. In addition, consultations required by foundations and individuals, locally and internationally on any matter related to the establishment and management of endowment foundations are provided by the said center aiming at maximizing the social impact and community benefits.
During the meeting, the Foundation’s general budget of the year 2021 was reviewed by the Board of Directors, and the endowment projects under study, design and implementation amounting to 228 million dirhams were presented, including the projects of workers’ housing endowment of the Islamic Affairs & Charitable Activities Department in Dubai, Al Noor Center Endowment for People of Determination, and the Women and Children Foundation Endowment.
Moreover, the updated Minor Affairs Department policies were adopted by the board complying with the Community Development Authority’s policies in classifying customers and taking into account the sufficiency limit, and compatible with the families’ needs after Corona pandemic outbreak.
In turn, HE Essa Abdullah Al Ghurair, the Chairman of the Board of Directors confirmed that the Foundation Board of Directors seeks constantly the plans and projects development as a part of the preparation plans for the “upcoming fifty years” as per an ambitious future vision.
H.E. added: the Dubai Endowment Sign is considered an incentive for governmental and private foundations, as well as individuals, to participate in the development process. Furthermore, the Foundation seeks to enhance the endowment culture in society by means of the approved regulation.
On his part, His Excellency Ali Al Mutawa, the Secretary General of the Foundation said that the Board seeks to update the policies and regulations to update policies and regulations in order to keep up with the legislative development and societal changes, especially after the effects imposed by the Corona pandemic and to be prepared for the coming fifty years.
Then, H.E. continued: we are eager to set the regulations and policies to meet the community needs and to motivate those who are able to allocate new endowments supporting health and education expenses in addition to the other expenses run by the Foundation.
It is worth mentioning that H.E. Ahmed Al Muhairi, H.E. Abdulaziz Al Hammadi, H.E. Hamda Al Qatami, H.E. Abdullah Al Madani, H.E. Ali Al Mutawa, the Secretary General of the Foundation and Khaled Al Thani, Deputy Secretary General were present at the meeting.
