Within the scope of the AMAF’s determination to implement its strategy emanating form the strategy of Dubai Government, in compliance with the operational plan at the Department of Guardians and Minors’ Relations; and within a new initiative in favor of its minors; the Social Research Section established and managed a database including information on minors and guardians, along with the results of the social and psychological researches which were carried out with them. The research encompassed 3,213 minors. The Director of Social Research Department Mrs. Afra’ Al-Murr declared that such study showed the daily needs through the requests submitted by guardians, which contributed to define the volume of supplies. Therefore, the number of minors who benefited from the foundation’s services until April 2008 reached 3,434 minors, 1,191 guardians and 242 legally incompetents. This helps the foundation issue decisions and examines the nature of the need and the scope of the minor’s benefit thereof. The spending of the minors’ sums was adopted, and it is supported by the presence of returns in solidarity and waqf projects, as the value of the sums used for the implementation of the projects until the end of June 2008, reached AED 1,500,000, of which 2,742 minors benefited.
Afra’ Al-Murr added: This comes within the scope of the social responsibility which reflects our daily initiatives; which confirms our commitment to fix our reputation and credibility in the minds and hearts of those who deal with us, by keeping on cooperating and opening new horizons with the society, in a way that allows us to fulfill the objectives of the foundation.
