Abstract |

Under the patronage of Sheikha Mariam Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, in the presence of Sheikh Said Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Awqaf and Minors’ Affairs Foundation organizes the “A Day with Me” event. The Foundation was determined to hold this event for the third consecutive year, to the benefit of 3-14 year-old male minors and 3-17 year-old female minors and guardians, noting that this celebration aims at integrating the minors into the society and offering confidence to each minor, and reaching a way of social communication between them and the Foundation, within the framework of the Foundation’s vision “qualified minor and developed waqf”. |

A committee was formed for the events, consisting of 4 teams. The event shall include an exhibition for talented minors, encompassing all the schools in all their phases, and an honoring ceremony for the excellent minor and the excellent guardian who will be elected in accordance with performance indicators and standards. The event will be marked by a religious chant, and a film made especially for the event, in addition to the efforts of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to the benefit of minors and children. Furthermore, the event will be honoring the participants from official parties, private companies and foundations which contributed to supporting this event and offering hope to children.
This event comes within the belief in the role of the Foundation in providing all the programs and events to minors throughout a strategic plan aiming at increasing the confidence in the spirit of each minor, reaching a way of social communication, transmitting the message of the Foundation in ensuring services to guardians and minors, so that they would feel that they are supported and protected.

- Creating confidence in the spirits of minors and creating a friendly environment between the minor, the guardians and the Foundation.
- Conveying a message to the society, stating that there is an unbalanced category due to the loss of a parent, and that this category needs your social and moral support
- Facilitating the fulfillment of our prophet’s recommendation: solidarity and protecting the orphan until he reaches the adult age.

Tasks of the committees:
- designing and preparing the programs of the events and coordinating (supervision, organization) with the organizing company about the place of the event and the activities to be performed
- Total supervision on the event program which highlights the role of the foundation in ensuring its services to minors and their families
The planning for the event started from November 2007, by the formation of the higher committee for the “A Day with Me” event, consisting of many sub teams which work hard in order to guarantee the success of this event:
- The Financial and Administrative Team
- The Public Relations Team
- The Event Organization Team
Regarding the role of the Public Relations, Mrs. Afra’ Al Murr, Head of the PR Committee said that the team accomplishes many tasks, as the committee targeted 2000 minors who are protected by the Foundation to attend the event, and it sets the invitation list for official parties within the state, it communicated with the official parties in order to define the number of attendants, to define the list of invited people among parties, rich families, schools, minors, guardians, and their families, setting up a mechanism to limit the number of minors and families.
The committee defined the distinguished categories of minors and guardians to honor them for their efforts.
The committee also defined the volunteers and the tasks entrusted to them, in addition to the formation of a team of ceremonies (men and women).
Regarding the Administrative Committee, Sheikha Abdullah said that the Administrative Committee’s task is limited to the communication with private foundations that supported the event. The support means were various. Some offered gifts to minors, others offered them toys and others offered them meals and juices. This shows the determination of the majority of the society’s category (citizens and residents) to express their gratitude to this state.

The Minors’ Foundation honors 2000 minors in the film “Smile No Tear”
The Awqaf and Minors’ Affairs Foundation prepares a huge film titled “ Smile… no tear” to be exposed in the opening of the “a day with me” event on Friday corresponding to 20/3/2008, before His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the guests, the most eminent personalities and before 2000 minors. Hoda Al Mana’i, Head of the Event Organizational Committee declared that the “A Day with Me” event comes within the framework of our belief in the role of the Foundation in ensuring all the services to minors (education, social, health and entertainment), including the “A Day with Me” event which was a brilliant success and was highly appreciated by minors and guardians.
