Under the sponsorship of his Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashed Al Maktoum, vice-president of the state, prime minister, Ruler of Dubai, president of the Awqaf and Minors’ Affairs Foundation organizes the Dubai International Conference on Waqf investments between February 4th and February 6th, with the participation of 50 states, namely world and Arab waqf foundations, in the presence of experts in the field of awqaf, social development and Islamic economy.

This comes within the press conference held yesterday, in the presence of the secretary general of the Awqaf and Minors’ Affairs Foundation and the official sponsors, i.e. foundations (Bohliba) and Waqf foundation for waqf services, the Islamic Bank of Emirates and Bin Laden group, and Al-Shaafar National Foundation and Al-Nabooda Group.

In his speech, Al-Shared confirmed that the conference comes within the strategic plan of the Awqaf & Minors’ Affairs Foundation, in order to build partnerships and strategic alliances and in order to search for new practices and innovations for the world waqf foundations in the field of awqaf investment, which enhances the potential and the investment and financial thinking of the foundation with other similar waqf foundations in the world, and which ensures more success and development for the foundation and for all the agents therewith, in an attempt to change the reality of awqaf, and the necessity to promote the charity social activities throughout this conference which serves the biggest category of people in society.

He said that the conference treats several axes within 7 sessions, and the experiences of the other states in addition to the attempt to find waqf forms in compliance with the current changes.

Furthermore, the conference was marked by the speech of Ahmad Hussein, the legal consultant of Bohliba foundations group, who thanked the secretary general of the foundation and expressed the happiness of Bohliba to join the list of sponsors. It was also marked by the speech of Farhan Al-Bastaki, from waqf foundation for waqf services, who asserted that the strategy of the waqf foundation meets the goals of the conference aiming at ensuring waqf investments for minors, in addition to the speech of Mosbah Abdul Rahim

Al Mosbah, director of the main branch of the Islamic Bank of Emirates, who praised the roles of the conference, pointing out the necessity to unite the efforts of the foundations in supporting such conferences.

Furthermore, there was a speech given by Mohammed Al Safi, director of the department of work development in Ben Laden group for contracting, who thanked the administrators of the foundation and all those who collaborated in this conference. Besides, Abdul Aziz Al-Shaafar, vice-president of the board of directors of Al-Shaafar National foundation for contracting, highlighted the tight relationship between the said foundation and the Awqaf and Minors’ Affairs Foundation.
