Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation (AMAF) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Tarahum Charity Foundation (TCF) to enhance synergies between the two entities in the humanitarian sector and specifically to support waqf projects and endowment funds.
The MoU was signed at AMAF’s headquarters by His Excellency Tayeb Al-Rais, Secretary General of AMAF, and His Excellency Amin Yousef Al Khaja, General Manager and Board Member of Tarahum Charity Foundation, in the presence of officials from both organizations.
As per the MoU, AMAF is mandated to cooperate and coordinate with Tarahum Charity Foundation with regard to supporting TCF’s humanitarian projects. As part of this priority, AMAF will allocate endowment funds contributed by its waqf donors to TCF’s humanitarian projects. The two organizations are also tasked with exchanging knowledge and best practices in the field of waqf management.
Speaking on the agreement, His Excellency Tayeb Al-Rais said: “Charity efforts serve as a foundation to strengthen solidarity and instill a spirit of unity among fellow human beings. They help shape a stable and secure social environment. Through this MoU, we seek to deepen synergies with Tarahum Charity Foundation to promote values of tolerance and responsibility, and facilitate the engagement and empowerment of all social segments.”
He added: “AMAF continues to collaborate with local and international charity and humanitarian organizations that seek to spread the culture of waqf and grow endowments through undertaking charitable initiatives. Dubai has lately become a global role model for waqf, reflecting the spirit and principles of Islamic economy.”
For his part, His Excellency Amin Yousef Al Khaja said: “AMAF has profound experience and an enviable track record in waqf management that effectively addresses humanitarian issues. Through this new partnership, we are looking to leverage our mutual expertise to better support needy segments in the UAE society.”
